Boy, did I do something stupid!!! As I was removing the transmission frm my B4, I had it balanced on a garage jack w/o a transmission jack adaptor, As I was lowering it down I believe the weight from the PTO caused the load to shift and tumble off the jack and fall about 1.5 feet onto the concrete. Fortunately no one was under the truck and although I'm no rocket scientist, would never be in harms way. The gearbox landed so that it did not impact the shaft or crack the case. However I am wondering how much play is normal for the input shaft. I can just wiggle it ever so slightly. Should there be absolutely no play. I had new seals and bearings installed a few years back.
