The little furry basters ate all the wires off my fuse block in my 84 Sno-Commander and ate the plastic coolant overflow tank. Poison did nothing to stop them. Two did drowned in the bottom of the overflow tank.
Try some cats! Have a friend who stored an old Cherokee out-side in New Jersey for 4-years. No prep, other than emptying gas tank. His 2 cats kept the mice away. We added new gas, checked fluid levels, re-adjusted carb, put air in the tires and I daily drove it for 6-monthes.
