If you stick to larger trucks, you can get great lengths of matching wire (several Ford/chevy cab to rear light harnesses, etc) or the larger Reefer style trucks have even longer stuff. A junkyard shouldn't charge more than $25.00 I'd guess, depending on which model they will let you part out. Best of all it's automotive grade and colorcoded.
You could even remove the entire harness from one vehicle and install it in yours, both modernizing and updating lighting options in some cases.
