I regret to say I cannot recall who shared this idea.... Park the vehicle on sheets of styrofoam, the kind that is 1-1/2 inches thick. Butt the sheets together and drive right on them. Combine the two ideas, spread polyethylene sheet on the ground under the styrofoam.

This idea was presented initially for parking on concrete floors, as it was the experience of the person suggesting it that moisture will readily mmigrate up through concrete.

You did not say what state you lived in, and what your climate is like. Grease all exposed surfaces that are not painted, like the ball ends on the front axle housing. Also, I think it is a good idea to fill the engine as full as possible with motor oil. Remove the spark plugs and fill the cylinders with motor oil. Yes, it is messy, but that is not our concern here.

Your gasoline will go bad. Draining the tank is a good idea, but then you are more likely to get serious condensation in the tank. Interested on other ideas with regard to the fuel tank.

Ideally you would have the truck elevated, or have the drive shafts disconnected from the differentials, so you could turn the differentials periodically. The reason for that is so you do not have condensation on the exposed portion of the ring gear. Taking the drive shafts out would also allow you to conveniently turn the transmission and transfer case. Keep everything lubed....

Put mouse poison in the cab. Lots of it. Refresh it every six months or so.

Be certain your cooling system is full, and properly protected with antifreeze. Take the battery out. Fill the master cylinder.
