The knuckles are installed with shims under (usually) the top. Pull the 4 bolts or nuts pull the top off, if no shims then new bearings & cups are in order. Some shade tree mechanics will cut a smaller diameter shim to push the cup down further.
In other words on these older 4x's "pins" are usually a permanant feature, bearings, cups and shims do the job.
