Gordon - I am running LT285/75 R16 tires on my 1998 Dodge 2500 4x4 Diesel, the tires are about 32-33" tall. Any larger of a tire would rub at the door end of the front fender wheel opening. If your truck is gas powered, it will sit lower than the diesel, unless you ordered the spring package, however, this usually effects the rear height rather than the front. I have the 3.54s and a 5 speed and tow a 16' trailer occasionally, with no problems. Also, if you don't plan to install fender flairs, don't go with too wide of a tire. I do get some road debris (tar) and mud flying up on the hood and fenders.
