On the top cover there is a stamped series of numbers to indicate the model of the carb.I bought a Carter Carburator Master Reference Manual at a used book store that covers all Carter applications from 1930 to 1954 for any mfg who put a Carter on their engine. This info is according to Carter: 1946-47 WDX engine# T-137-1001 and higher used ET1 with gov# 220-2, ET2 with gov# 220-2, and ET4 with gov# 220-4. 1947-49 WDX,B1PW,F1PW engine# T-137-8219 and higher used E7F1 with gov# 220-6. 1949-50 B1PW used E7S1 with gov# 220-8. The book has an unusual gap with no listing specifically for 1951-52 but in 1953, the B4PW used E7TI and E7T2. That's as far as the Carter book goes but my Motors Truck Manuals say the E7S1 was used from 1949-60, E7T1 was used from 1950-54, E7T2 was used from 1952-60. So perhaps if anyone has a Carter book that picks up where mine leaves off, thats the best I can do. The Carter book lists the following kits for repairs:ET1-ET2-ET4 used gasket assortment#191 and repair package# 1370A, E7F1-E7S1 used gask# 205 and repair# 1503, E7T1-E7T2 used gask# 137A and repair# 1534A. These numbers might be able to be interchanged by a GOOD parts house or just use the carb model number, hope this helps.
