Hi Guys.....

Before I forget.....a big Thank You to Alan for the excellent articles on carb, governor and the new one on Distributor overhaul.

Now to my question..... How do we identify a carburator??? In late June R. Rodgers asked a similar question but no replies were posted.

Obviously different years of PW had different models of carbs.... I have a 56 C4 (230 c.i.)and it has the same carb as a 2 wheel 52 Dodge CDN 251c.i. ..... it has the central rib on the top part of the carb cover....

... and I saw a PW running a similar carb that has some kind of accelarator pump mounted in place of the rib smack in the middle of the carb top cover????

Now I bought one of tose with the accelarator pump... bolts on perfectly.... linkage slightly different... but I was told that it was for a car... 1955... with auto transmission..??? go figure... but it works..

I would like to use the proper carb on the PW.... so which one is it??? what kit part # do I ask for??? and which number on the carb is the right one to quote for ordering????

...... Alan..... any chance of seeing an article on the civilian PW carbs.... or a good exploded drawing in the future????

Thanks.... Bob Carriere
