Welding the snap ring to the rim does not seem likly to me. There is no "drop center" to the rim and no way to elongate the tire into the drop to get the bead behind the rim lip. FOUR BUCKS is a deal. We recently put 4 new tires on my sons truck ourselves. When I went to put new tires on mine I went to a truck shop and paid $15 each to have them mount my new tires. They wound up not having the right size tubes and I paid $20 for four just to get them broken down. I went to the car tire shop where I got my Super Swampers and got the tubes and finished the job myself. Damn things are heavy!! Last one we did was a flat repair. Since we have road hazzard guarantees we took the wheel/tire to the place where we bought them. We got them to break the tire off the snap ring with their tire machine and them we removed the ring and gave them the tube to patch, We went home and reassembled our selves. We had two of the older kids doing the mounting/balancing spend time with us finding out how the rim worked. They might move on to a truck tire shop. BOB
