Hey MoparNorm,

Your qoute: "Clint, this sounded really good! But it was the SAME supplier, just a different axle."

This was the point I was trying to make with my quote: "The newer W-series uses Spicer axles front and rear, and even though the front may be lighter duty than the rear (W100 & W200) they are both Spicer so the ratios match."

Where I was wrong was in "...so the ratios match" part of it. I should not have said that, as you pointed out, when even when using axles from the same supplier, they can have different ratios by mixing different sizes fore and aft. The point I was trying to make, though, is that the ratios DO NOT have to be exactly the same front and rear, however they are in our 1-ton and military Dodges because those trucks use the same corporate differential front and rear (and the W300 also, becuase of using the same Spicer 70).

The Fords and Chevys are the ones I was referring to that used their own corportae axle in the rear and a Dana/Spicer (or other) in the front.

Are you coming to the Iowa Rally MoparNorm?

Clint
