Don:

If I look at my gas tank there is a plug in it just foreard of the filler tube. It looks like it might have leaked at one time as it looks as if someone fiberglassed it or something.

My XL on my carryall have never been balanced. I get just a little vibration at 38 MPH then it is smooth as silk. When starting off and stopping at speeds under 15 or 20 MPH I get a lot of tire induced vibration. It is simply the tire ging from lug to lug as it rotates. Lots of road vibration. Once I get going faster I get rid of the vibration and they tend to "sing" and be generally somewhat noisy. Not too bad though. I do wear ear protection when driving du to engine noise. My lock rite seems to work just fine. I also put in new side gears when I installed the lockrite. The only thing I ever hear from it is an occassional pop when going around a sharp corner. THe only other thing I see is on accelleration it pulls a little to the left and when decellerating it pulls a little to the right. This is due to the axles being locked and a slight difference in tire diameter on the rear axle.
