I'd have a petrol-engined Dodge for each foot, and one as a spare.
I'd probably spend a year just driving coast to coast and north / south, picking up all the tired Dodge stuff I could find, sort of an imitation Townwagon Eric.
The only positive thing about the fuel cost in Europe is that you can buy some of the old humugous fuel burners like mack and Diamond T relatively cheaply, and if you only drive them a hundred miles a year it's no big deal.
