Man I hated that! When I was stationed in Germany, if you didn't buy it at the American station you had to pay 1.35 Deutsche Marks per liter.
"Lets see... about four liters to the gallon, a little less, 3.20DMs to the dollar,... ?!?!?!" I either paid $.90 a gallon, or $70.00, I was never sure. I just handed them a wad of money, took back what they gave me and smiled. : )
