I just went on a tour of 4 abandoned buildings, which used to comprise the Long Island Auto Museum, which is now out of business. The space is leased to a friend, who I knew collected old Brockways and forward-control Jeeps, among other weirdness.

He has 3.5 Dodges for sale as follows:

1 M37 excellent runner, good overall condition, painted OD, complete with rear bows. No cab top. Winch and snowplow set-up. A nice truck that needs very little work.

2 M37 runs, but rough. Appears to be complete, body-wise. Some rust, naturally. Painted yellow. No cab top.

3 Some sort of military Dodge, I think in the WC series. Building was too dark, and I am too unfamiliar with the species to be more accurate. (Definitely not a VC series, and not an M37)

It has no bed, and has rust at the front fender bottoms. Open cab. Seat buckets. Round gauges. The front fenders look like a WM300, and the hood is a bit flatter. No winch. Was a fire dept rig. Runs well, he says. Painted red over OD. Military "Tire Presure" stencilling still visible on dash.

4 A pile-o-parts, including a drive-train, that I did not see personally, but is supposedly another of the WC type. Sorry to be vague, but the seller can be more helpful.

You may contact John Degan at his work number: 631-283-5151 (Liberty Iron Works) The trucks are located in Southampton, Long island, NY 11968. (about 2 hours' drive from the NYC area, or an hour from the Connecticut ferries.)

He will take some digital photos soon, he says. He is looking to sell all the trucks as a package, as he has lost the use of the storage place. His asking price, which I am sure is negotiable, is in the $8000 range for all items.

If you have trouble catching him at work, call me, and I will relay the message to him. My number is 631-749-0100, Ext 1.
