When I heard the numbers I explained the problem, and he said that the tongue weight would cover the remaining weight.

I recomended that he buy bigger, but then I remembered that plenty of guys tow with a trailer like this, so I thought I would ask if there was some factor I was missing.

I use a gooseneck, and the last time I towed a bumper pull was sometime in the late 90s.
