If your gonna use the original intake manifold w/an adapter,I'd try to find one of the small 4bbl carbs that are approx. 340CFM.
I've seen them in Summit and Jeggs perf. catalogs, it just seems that size would work better than the 500CFM 2bbl carb?
I've always thought a system of using three
1 bbl carbs would be simple enough. The L-head engines have only 3 intake ports, and you could build three simple intake tubes w/flanges. The only drawback I see is that you would need to purchase a multi-carb vaccume syncronizer so you could keep them well adjusted. Might be a good performing setup if someone had the desire ,cash and time to try it.
