Same, I really have never ever seen a professional transport company use anything other than heavy nylon straps & axle straps.
Chains are gross over-kill but I guess it's better to have over-kill than underkill!
I've had more problems with load binders coming loose(once)than with nylon straps coming loose or breaking.(never...not even when cinched over a sharp corner)
