Keith, I chained down my PW a little different when i went to recent rally. I went from each side of axle to opposite corner of trailer (wrapped chain between spring perch and wheel). No interfence from wheel/tires. I used the rachet type on back and tightened those first. Then used binder type on front cross chains. Pulled those tight with small cheater bar. Loosened up a little after driving awhile and I just used the back rachets to tighten up. The military commonly xchains vehicles during transport. I did have to move the brake lines out just a little from axle so I could get the chains behind.
The only problem with using chains on one end and binders or rachets on the other is you will have to attach chains and drive truck to tighten them up or you will have too much slack to take out with the rachets/binders.
