That's wierd, because my TM9-2320-212-26 definitely said that C was either ground or was not connected, depending on the vehicle. But like I said it won't hurt to hook it up wrong briefly, so just try it with C grounded, and B to the field. If it was mine, I'd probably still try to take the generator apart and look. When in doubt, I like to see things physically.
