David has it exactly right. Rice burners will damage the valve train and possibly the pistons when the belt slips or breaks. This is the most common cronic problem with the toy motors that come in nipponese cars.
Real motors use gears and chains, not rubber belts! Rubber is smoother, quieter, cheaper and usually fatal to the motor $$$.
