I went all around town today looking for straight 140wt gear lube for the front knuckles. All I could come up with was 85-140 SAE. I think that will still be to light a gear lube for the knuckles.
But check this, I did find some stuff at the Co-Op called Bull Gear grease. It's semi-fluid, and used on the exposed bull gears on Freeman balers. It's sticky, heavy, and the smell would make a billy goat puke! I think it may be a good medium between 140 wt and bearing grease. Anyone have any expirence with the stuff? Down side is it's $35 a gallon.
