Most people don't go anywhere, they receive infected e-mails from folks that they know, but who have not sent the e-mail, because the names and eddresses are "stolen" from legitimate e-mail address books on your harddrive, by the virus software.
Opening an innocent looking e-mail may infect your hard drive, and you might be the unwitting sender of thousands of virus (viri?) and never know it, especially if you do not have a firewall or anti-virus software.
