Wet or dry soda blasting will strip paint from metal without any damage and will leave a Ph residue that inhibits oxidation but it must be removed before painting. Also high pressure water blasting (40,000 psi.) will strip paint, bondo and amazingly blast away corrosion but the sheet metal should be phosphated as soon as possible after the blasting process. Water blasting operations can be found in most metropolitan areas since the technology is widely used for concrete road/bridge surface restoration. I have tried every system mentioned except soda blasting and I would say that water blasting will give the best results for the dollar compared to abbrasive blasting.
