My daily driver for the last thirteen years has been a 1979 W150, fulltime 4wd with a 318 and a 4 speed. All of the sheet metal has been replaced due to rust but the drivetrain is still original. Never had trouble with the Dana 44 front axle, NP445 trans or the NP203 transfer case. Keep it maintained and she will serve you well. Still easy to find parts also. Value could be $500 to $2500, more if in really nice shape.
P.S Have bought several parts trucks which had automatics. None of the autos worked well including the 1977 M880 I have now.
