You definately have the "long" Desoto engine. The book I looked at says it is most likely 236 as well. Does it look like the radiator has been changed or moved foreward at some time? How close are the fan blades to the rad core, and the top tank? When the factory put the long motors in, they moved the rad ahead in the shell to make room.

I'm afraid that more than just the tips of the fan would need "clearancing" if you had the 331/377/413 series engine in there. Tip offs to the presence of the "big" six would be dual carbs, a radically streched hood, and the radiator mounted out on frame extensions for a winch. Seriously, the "big" sixes are based on the Chrysler Imperial engine from back in the 30's, and are at least another 3" longer again than the "long" Desoto/Chrysler type. The trucks that the factory put them in had special hoods, fenders and frames that were made longer just so that engine would fit.
