Year ago, while stationed at Fort Leavenworth, KS, we had a shortage of funds for gas (Military budget thing). At the Provost Marshal's Office we were limited to how many miles we could drive due to the gas crunch. The folks that took care of post (Inmates) were limited on gas too, so everything couldn't be mowed (too much land to keep it looking like the golf course). The Garrison Commander at the time, Col Tom Fincher (a class act!), came up with signs around the back parts of post that read (and I'm not making this up...) "Returned to Native Prairie Grass".
What a classic!! I think I'll return my yard to "Native Prairie Grass".
