Field vs Armature terminals?

I have an original 6 volt generator. The system has quit charging and I wanted to test whether the problem is with the generator or the regulator.

I want to ground the field terminal on the generator and see it then charges. Which terminal is the field terminal, they are not marked on the generator itself. The wires are all bound together in a harness so it is hard to track it back to the regulator where it is marked.

Which is which. One terminal has a condensor attached to it and it bigger than the other.
