It may help in reducing wheel hop in the rear in sticky situations since most of the weight of the truck is in the front end, the hydraulics when locked would help transfer that pressure to the rear axle. Without enough weight in the back when I get mine bogged down (Temporally Stuck) into deep mud the rear of the truck would sometimes hop a little bit. Not bad but a little extra weight eliminates the hop.
