I just bought my son a 1988 Ford Ranger 4x4 with 335k miles on the original V6 engine.
Bought it from the original owner who changed the oil every 3000 miles with dino.
Engine runs like a top, good power, passed emissions like a champ and the oil is still amber colored on the dip stick 1000 miles after the last oil change.
I'm thinking if a little high reving V6 is good to go after 300+k miles on straight dino, synthetic isn't worth the investment. But then again, I'm a cheap skate ;-)
