I think the day has come for me to come clean on the Country Wagon. The article was intentionally ambiguous on whether this fantasy car was ever constructed. Sentence by sentence, the article is factual. However, the reader may easily be mislead to believe the "independent engineer" had an association with Chrysler in 1946 rather than being a truly independent daydreamer in the present day. It was no coincidence that the article appeared in the APRIL issue of the Power Wagon Advertiser.

I hope you enjoyed stretching your imagination. And I hope any misinformation does not prevail. Here are some facts to set the record straight:

The photos show the comparison between the doctored photo submitted with the article and my actual WC53.

My Carryall is a run-of-the mill, 1942 WC53. It has been augmented (by me) with a civilian Power Wagon grill shell, hood, winch and transfercase. It retains the 114 inch wheelbase and loveable 230 cu. in six.

If anybody is pondering what 270 lb-ft of torque from a staight-eight would be like in a WC, I'll let you know in a year or so. I am collecting parts for a test chassis.
