If it is the flatfender tranny you are talking about, they are not very complicated. I am no mechanic (I had a pro do my transfer case). However, the tranny was much simpler (non synchro 4 speed from the 52 pw). Between parts from Dave Cirillo, VPW and Alretta Truck Parts, as well as help from a friend who used to be a farm tractor mechanic, the tranny was pretty simple. I had to replace two gears and get a bearing set.
