That's the problem RD...
Unfortunately because people had left the trucks I purchased unserviced for so long, it took two parts trucks to make one good usable Power Wagon. I guess if you like them with no floor a bent frame & cracked engine, you would have liked mine but I don't have any mystical attraction to these trucks...I like when they run & work like they were engineered to do. Unfortunately maintainance & restoration is required on most of these trucks as with anything. Once they reach a certain degree of decay they will need more than a little wax.
A handful of trucks like Wilbur can be left mostly original, a few like Clint's need very little but unfortunately the bulk of these trucks will become junk within the near future if people like Chris in Idaho or Paul in NY don't put in the hours required to restore them.
It would be great if they could all look like Wilbur & Clint's trucks & sit out in the old field like a picture but unfortunately that's what has ruined most of them RD.
Here's the good news though...if the majority of people feel as you do & want them left original, the guys trying to save them will go broke trying & the Power Wagons will just rust away like all the old sedan's sitting in farmers fields & wrecking yards.
So long as people want restored Power Wagon's there will be people losing money restoring them.
