I know of probably 6 or 8 real nice, really low milage, original Power-Wagons around the country. These are probably not trucks that you will see for sale anytime soon. I don't think any of them have ever even appeared pictured here. A majority of the owners probably don't even visit here. There is still a large population of Power-Wagon enthusiasts out there who are not on-line. (A good argument for everyone subscribing to the Power Wagon Advertiser, right Gordon?) These trucks, I personally feel, could be viewed by the right buyers as more valuable than the current $30,000 restorations now available.

I have watched the trends in prices over the past 25 years in restored/refurbished Power-Wagons offered for sale. I don't have a particular opinion, one way or the other, whether the prices are truly realistic or not, but I can't help but wonder what second-hand effect this trend has on the rare originals that are in collectors hands? Are they increasing proportionately in value/price? And is this trend driven by their own merits, or influenced by prices of those that have been restored/refurbished? I think the rare original Power-Wagon is even more of a rarity than the typical mint low mile muscle car, for instance, directly because of the fact that most of their siblings HAVE spent their life outdoors and working and now show their age. A small ratio of collector cars were parked and forgotten in warm dry storage, but an even smaller ratio of Power-Wagons enjoyed the same life.
