one night a while back. While one was in the store the other was sitting in the car revving up the motor. Every time he reved it up, flaming gasoline spewed out under the car. I suppose there was a hole in a fuel line downstream of the fuel pump and above the exhaust pipe. I pointed it out to his buddy as he came out of the store, who stuck his head under to have a look and apparently confirmed to his satisfaction that it was indeed fire. After the two had a short discussion on the subject (of which I think half the words were either "dude" or "f---in") they decided it was no big deal and got in the car and headed off to parts unknown, with occasional flashes of fire coming from underneath. It was a rainy night, and I never heard of any cars exploding in the middle of the road, so I guess it ended without tragedy. Ya gotta wonder sometimes...
