Those are good questions that I havent really seen anyone in the PW scene answer.

For me a "restored" vehicle would be restored to exactly how it came from the factory. No conversion of brakes or power steering. No after market seats or 318 conversions.

An "original" or a "survivor" could be seperate class's all itself. We'll use Judd and Marty's PW Mr Wilbur......is Wilbur all original or is it a survivor. I would tend to say Wilbur is an original truck. Althought in perfect shape for its age it did need paint and some mechanical work done to it.

A survivor may be one of the brush trucks that is still shiny new looking and been in a fire house garage for the last 40+ years.

Another class could be perhaps a "custom" or "modified" class?!?! A truck that has been restored in some sense but has been modified with disc brake conversions and v8 engine upgrades.

So with all this being said and bare with me as I am involved in the muscle car world and have that thinking.......... how are Power Wagon's different? What makes one worth more then the other?!?! With the exception of the crew cab or swivel frame conversion they are all a like with the exception of the different bed/rear fenders and the 251/syncro tranny change in later years?!?!

How can I know a Power Wagon has its original engine? Tranny? Its the same truck year after year after year. You couldnt order it with a Hemi or a 318 or a 383 or a /6 with or without AC. With the exception of the winch which is common, the belt pulley and 3pt hitch options are the only other things I see that could add to the price of a Power Wagon?!?!

So why is one restored Power Wagon $30000 and the other restored Power Wagon $20000?
Did one have the ultra rare 426 Hemi 4 speed with only a few hundred made while the other one is just a common 318 automatic truck?! Or did one truck use reproduction parts while the other truck used original or NOS parts?!?! Is there some place on the title or truck that tells me this is an original belt pulley truck! Or an original winch truck?

Todd
