Doug, You may be aware, but Colorado has a process for getting a bonded title. Take the truck to the Colorado State Patrol office in Colorado Springs for a VIN inspection. Then have a licensed auto appraiser issue an appraisal (see yellow pages.) Go to an insurance broker and buy a bond for the appraised value of the truck. Take all the above red-tape to the DMV and get a clear title. I did this in 1998 on a WDX and the whole deal (less the DMV registration) ran about $200.
