I hope I can read a good technical article in AW&ST pretty soon. If the scramjet actually lit and produced thrust, it was the first time that a scramjet has successfully operated outside of a wind tunnel. An air-breathing engine with no moving parts is a very clever thing, no matter what you do with it.
