Broadway title is a great place for a title but sometimes it wont work for certain states.
In Kansas you can apply for a "quiet title" where you file the paper work with the court costing the standard filing fee for the court. Then you have to put in the legal section of a public newspaper for so many times and weeks what you are wanting to do. If no on protests at the end of the time period the judge signs off and you take the papers to the DMV and get your title. To have a lawyer do it costs about 500$ or you can do it yourself. Court filing fee's are about 110$ in kansas and then what ever the newspaper charges. The key to it is not put the legal notice in the Wall Street Journal but some small podunk town newspaper to avoid anyone hassling you. If anyone suspects or hassles you its a no go on the title. If someone has the title then they can come get the vehicle. You really want to do this before you restore it!
