Yep, happened to me here at work a couple of years ago. They shattered the driver's side window of my pickup and stole my cd player, cell phone, and mag light. It turns out that they hit about 14 cars in that same parking lot that same morning, within less than an hour. The reason they know it was less than an hour is because the security guards drive through each lot once per hour. Oddly enough, a lot of the vehicles should have been in reasonably good view of the guard shack, which is across the street and up a hill, a total of about 200 yards. Makes you wonder sometimes.
It's irritating, too, when you think about the fact that the company will not let you keep certain items in your vehicle when you are in their parkings lots, and they'll punish you if they find out that you are doing so, but if your vehicle gets broken into, the company refuses to take any responsibility for any damages.
Sorry, I got onto a rant and wanted to vent.
