I replaced my 230's original point dist. with an electronic ignition from an early 80's 225 /6.I purchased the distributor, the ignition box, coil, ballast resistor and complete wiring harness for around $40.00. from an Automotive Recycling Facility(Junk Yard).
I needed the wiring harness to get the proper plug for the ignition module.I had a machinist friend turn the dist. housing to fit the block,(i can't remember how much) and used the original shaft. The reluctor wheel presses on and the vaccuum advance mechanism bolts up easily. It is a very simple change over. The engine starts easier, runs smootherand the plugs stay a little cleaner.Definitly worth it in my opinion.
