I'm going to have to sort of disagree with Norm here. I've got 3 W300's, an M43 and a B4, with the correct Dodge shop manuals for all. There are some inconsistancies in the manuals over the years, but they all say short fiber grease in the knuckles for the M37 and flat fenders. The pictures of disassembly also show heavy grease in these units, plus the grease fitting on the top is indicative. That said, I agree with Marty that a flowing, or semifluid grease will be a better option for these, if they hold it. I've used POR-15 on my knuckle balls, sanded smooth, and new felts, and I find that SAE 250 stays in pretty well. Now, for the Dana 70 axels in the W300's; they have a rubber seal behind the felt, and I run synthetic SAE140 in all mine (new tapered roller bearings top and bottom, correct preload, new seals) with very little leakage. There is some confusion in the manuals as to the correct lube for the W300's but it is carry over from the WM300 grease spec, I think. The later ones do say SAE140. I'll post a source for the SAE250 later. Rob
