That was my point. Irony is hard to convey in text. You forgot some other rules.
Rule 3 - As soon as you throw out a piece/part of something you'll need it the next week.
Rule 4 - As soon as you sell/give away a single of of something because you give up hope of finding a match for it, you'll see one the following week.
Rule 5 - You call about a part/truck you need and it was "just" sold.
