The top UK TV programme about anything with an engine, "Top Gear" did a feature on one of those old Toyota diesel pickups.
They hit it witha wrecking ball, drove it into the sea, set fire to it, and after each little adventure a chap with a spanner got it driving again in a couple of minutes with no new parts.
Finally they parked it on top of a concrete tower block that was going to be demolished in a series of controlled explosions. It came down several hundred feet in a few seconds amognst several thousands of tons of falling concrete. they hauled it off the pile with a hydraulic bucket crane, turned it back onto it's wheels, put the battery back it, fired it up, and drove it into the studio..... 8-)
I have no liking for Japanese automotive machinery at all, but I'd have to say that was impressive. I'll stick to my Dodges though.
(Oh, the truck? I think they dusted it off and parked it on a block of wood somewhere)
