My friend at work this morning told me he went ahead and bought the '55 utility company power wagon he told me about last week (but wouldn't tell me where it was)! For $300!!!! It is all there, with cabinet bed, two winches, rear boom, good tires. The original owner (!) wanted at least what the crusher would give him. Imagine that chilling possibility. I'm very happy it found a willing restorer instead. He should be chiming in here soon, as I have briefed him on this site and VPW. He doesn't know if the flathead works, but was talking about Cummins. I said it has been done, so there is hope, although original is very desireable.
This also illustrates that there is hope for the rest of us, that there still remains undiscovered treasure out there, somewhere.
