The M29C was amphibious, it would actually carry a load in water and was used in the Pacific, Europe, wherever.
The M29 was described as 'semi-amphibious' (don't you just love those army descriptions - like being 'slightly dead') and they were seen in Europe, however not as common as an M29C with the tanks off.
The T28 rear engined thing was a trial machine, they made under a thousand (from memory) but they did actually see action, from memory with the 10th in the Aleutians (Kiska?)
