Many of those kids who took all of those "hardships" in stride while growing up, are now the parents who are sue-happy when their own little junior scrapes his knee.
Here in the state of Illinois, I will not even be able to give my new little nephew a ride in the Power-Wagon without a car seat untill he is 9 years old. The crazy thing is, that I know 9 year olds who are nearing 5-feet tall. I drove my first farm tractor alone when I was 4 and was mowing the yard, again alone, when I was 8 or 9.
How are these next generations going to run our country without their mommies to pick them up when they fall down?
I know that piece was meant to be humorous, but it still gets me riled up.
