A good way to clean up carbon in the combustion chamber is to place a milk jug full of water above the carb and punch a small hole in the jug so that water will drible into the carb with the eng running at a high idle. Not to much water or you will stall the engine. Just enough to make it run a little rough. A couple of gallons of water will soften and remove most if not all of the carbon deposits. Of course you have your head off now but in the future you may want to give this a try. Also a lot of slow speed driving expecially with a cold eng will cause carbon to build up. Just my 2 cents worth. Good luck.
