That is the same thing I'm going to do to my '63. I found a near mint 1st series bed to install on it. I did some trial fitting of the bed pieces on the frame before I took the cab off. It looked to me that there weren't enough holes in the '63 frame for the older bed (the bed was completely disassembled when I traded for it, so it's kind of hard to tell, not ever seeing one together ), or was I just not seeing how it attached completely(?).
