Been trying to get this WC running but have been running into problems and need a little help. When I got it all the spark plug wires were missing and there was a real funky ignition set up with a toggle switch instead of a key. I've replaced almost everything in the ignition system (tune up, coil, new wires, ignition switch, and ran new 10ga. wire) and switched from + to - ground. I bypassed the ballast resistor for now. Heres the problem: I'm getting spark, but the engine is backfiring through the carb and not starting. I'm pretty sure I'm in the correct firing order but as I had no guide for putting the wires back on the dist. cap they may be mis-set. I need a point of reference such as the oil cap on the dist. to make sure they are set right. The dist. on the WDX seems to be diffrent. If someone with a #214 could look on the dist. and using the oil cap as a 12:00 point of reference tell me what the next plug clockwise is (I'm set on #5) it would be mutch appreciated. If anyone has any other good ideas please post. Thanks in advance.
