{{came into possession of an old dodge pickup today, need help identifying truck and engine, it is a flathead six, the plaque in the door jam says s/n 81265168 model no. B-1-D-116 gross vehicle weight = 7500 lbs. 82 certified hp @ 3200 RPM , the truck has 16 inch split rims and a full floating rear axle, can anyone tell me what I have ??}}
The model number is "B" 1948-53 light duty Dodge truck, "1" 1948-49 version, "D" one ton, and "116" this is the wheel base. The serial number shows it to be a late '48 model built in Detroit MI. It could be a '49 but you misread the number after the 6.
